Description

We are looking for an experienced Accountant III specializing in Accounts Receivable to join our client's team in New Orleans, Louisiana. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers the opportunity to contribute to critical financial operations, including account monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, solid experience in accounts receivable, advanced proficiency in Excel, and the ability to collaborate across departments effectively. This role is 100% on-site; located in CBD.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and reconcile general ledger and clearing accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Analyze financial accounts and ensures accuracy of payments and refunds made through the online payment system, post check voids, wires, cancellations, and rejections. Analyze credit balance reports and post all transactions as required.

• Generate and distribute reports using Cognos to support departmental decision-making processes.

• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries promptly.

• Perform month-end close procedures, ensuring deadlines are met and data integrity is maintained.

• Reconcile aged receivables and accounts receivable balances, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

• Conduct reconciliations and investigate variances to maintain accurate financial records.

• Develop and maintain proficiency in enterprise computer systems for managing large-scale financial operations.

• Collaborate with diverse teams to streamline workflows and enhance organizational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred; 6+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, V-lookups, and complex formulas.

• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliation.

• Experience with enterprise-level computer systems and computerized report generation tools. Experience with Banner system preferred; not required.

• Ability to manage month-end close processes effectively and with attention to detail.

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact with diverse individuals.

• Capability to prioritize tasks independently and deliver results within established timelines.

• Knowledge of Accounts Receivable processes, including aged receivables analysis.
