Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Bentonville, Arkansas. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in managing financial processes, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and tax-related tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial accuracy and organizational success within the retail industry.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly accounting entries, ensuring accuracy in general ledger accounts and reconciliations.

• Calculate and record deferred revenue and other critical accounting entries.

• Assist in generating lot income statements and contribute to financial reporting processes.

• Complete month-end checklists and maintain comprehensive work papers.

• Serve as a backup for the General Ledger Manager as needed.

• Provide support to various operational lots and address their accounting needs.

• Oversee and manage the Bank of America online p-card program and Visa Prepaid program.

• Handle the filing of personal property tax and prepare estimated tax payments with related documentation.

• Conduct month-end expense reviews and analyze surplus and deficiencies for repossessions.

• Collaborate on special projects assigned by leadership, including the Controller and Principal Accounting Officer. Requirements • Proven experience in tax-related processes, including sales and use tax.

• Strong knowledge of preparing and recording journal entries.

• Expertise in month-end close procedures and financial reporting.

• Skilled in performing financial reconciliations with attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Solid understanding of general ledger operations and accounting principles.

• Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
