Our client, a reputable and growing company located in the Appleton area, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their team. This organization is dedicated to maintaining high standards of operational excellence and offers an outstanding work environment.

Job Summary:

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and managing cost-related accounting activities for the company. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. In this role, you'll play a critical part in driving data-informed decision-making and cost efficiency within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Analyze Costs: Collect, analyze, and report on cost data to support the accurate analysis of profitability, cost variances, and inventory valuation.

+ Support Budgeting: Assist in the creation and monitoring of budgets, providing input on cost control and variance management.

+ Maintain Standards: Monitor and update standard costs as required, ensuring accurate and up-to-date cost records.

+ Inventory Oversight: Collaborate with operations to reconcile and manage inventory, analyzing variances and recommending corrective actions.

+ Cost Reporting: Prepare detailed cost analysis and reports that provide actionable insights for management.

+ Financial Reviews: Conduct reviews of pricing models and cost allocation strategies to confirm accuracy and efficiency.

+ Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance cost-efficiency, and streamline reporting procedures.

+ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with accounting, production, and purchasing teams to enhance cost-efficiency and financial performance.

Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.

+ Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

+ Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

+ Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.

+ CPA or CMA certification preferred (but not required).
