Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Seattle, Washington. This role involves managing a variety of accounting functions, including grant and contract billing, month-end close activities, and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and submit grant and contract billings, ensuring all required supporting documentation is included.
• Monitor compliance with financial terms of grants and contracts and address any discrepancies.
• Collaborate with department leads to obtain necessary approvals for invoices prior to submission.
• Respond promptly to inquiries from funders and internal program managers regarding financial matters.
• Record monthly banking transactions, including checking, savings, and investment accounts, as part of the month-end close process.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Provide data and prepare schedules for annual financial audits, 401k audits, and tax filings.
• Order and manage office supplies, including securing necessary purchase approvals.
• Serve as a backup for other accounting functions by cross-training in key responsibilities.
• Participate in quarterly audits of health insurance programs and assist with client assistance fund applications and payments.
The pay rate for this position is $29/hr to $39/hr.

Requirements • Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger processes.
• Experience with bank reconciliations and journal entry preparation.
• Familiarity with grant and non-profit accounting practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close activities effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills for collaborating across teams.
