Description We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join our dynamic team in Los Angeles, California. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to grow their career while contributing to key accounting functions. The role involves handling accounts payable and receivable, managing billing processes, and performing reconciliations to ensure accurate financial operations.
Responsibilities:
• Review contracts and booking reports to ensure precise entry of information into the accounting system.
• Investigate held checks or wire transfers and coordinate with the client team to address missing bookings.
• Assist agents and their teams in resolving booking report submission questions.
• Execute month-end close tasks, including booking revenue according to established revenue recognition policies.
• Perform monthly billing adjustments and address discrepancies or billing inquiries efficiently.
• Identify and collect on overdue balances while fostering positive client relationships.
• Support the budgeting process for accounts receivable by providing data and addressing variances.
• Conduct monthly training sessions for new agent assistants to familiarize them with trust accounting functions and submission processes.
• Assist with special projects, company initiatives, and process improvement efforts.
• Manage and upload profit statements and update supplier grids for booking and invoicing. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with at least 3 years of experience in finance or accounting.
• Proven ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies effectively.
• Prior experience in the entertainment industry is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and month-end closing processes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with manual checks and accounting entries.
• Advanced knowledge of bank and account reconciliations.
• Familiarity with Excel and spreadsheet management tailored to client needs.
