• Unit Secretary - Med/Surg - PRN

    The Unit Secretary coordinates the activities of the department through communication and performs general reception and clerical duties to support efficient operations.

     

    * Answers call bells and communicates specific patient needs to staff. Triages and escalates patient issues appropriately.

    * Answers telephone promptly and courteously, takes accurate and complete messages, forwards or answers inquiries as appropriate. Demonstrates accuracy in preparing correspondence, reports and messages. Exhibits familiarity with computer programs used to support unit functions.

    * Ensures supplies, equipment, and work environment are kept clean, well stocked, and organized at all times. Orders and receives all patient supplies, e.g. dietary, equipment, as directed.

    *Minimum Education*

    • High school diploma or equivalent □ Preferred X Required

    Preferred - 1 year of general office experience.
