    Description

    The Outbound Communications Services team operates the foundational systems that enable Amazon and its subsidiaries to communicate with customers on Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Push endpoints. Our mission is to successfully transmit selected messages to customers ensuring high availability and low latency, and gathering near real-time feedback from the endpoints to create closed loop optimizations. We are passionate about building scalable, well-designed software which processes billions of transactions with high throughput. We constantly improve our technical foundation and customer experience. As a Principal Technical Program Manager on the team, you’ll have huge impact on how customers, including friends and family, engage with Amazon.

     

    We’re looking for a strong technical leader who enjoys working with cloud-scale global systems from the ground up, and who wants to help shape the roadmap for how Amazon communicates with it's customers globally. As one of the senior leader on our team, you’ll work closely with our engineering staff, partner teams, scientists, and our executive team to design and execute your team’s vision. You will guide a team of smart software engineers to architect and develop the right technical solutions to meet the team's multi-year vision.

     

    For this role you will be managing a complex project that involves many partner teams across Amazon with a high degree of business ambiguity. You will partner closely with the engineering teams to understand technical risks and opportunities to improve processes. Successful candidate will have an established track record of delivering complex distributed software systems, keen technical aptitude, excellent project management skills, solid communication skills, and be dedicated to achieve results in a fast paced environment.

    Basic Qualifications

    - 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

     

    - 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

     

    - 5+ years of software development experience

     

    - Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

     

    - Bachelor's degree

    Preferred Qualifications

    - 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

     

    - Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
