Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to lead critical accounting functions while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will excel in financial reporting, internal controls, and special projects aimed at optimizing organizational performance.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies while maintaining familiarity with GAAP requirements.
• Lead and manage special projects, conducting thorough research, analysis, and reporting to drive informed decision-making.
• Prepare accurate financial reports and schedules in a timely manner to reflect the company's financial health.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of internal controls to maintain the integrity of financial data.
• Create and post journal entries independently, ensuring accuracy and alignment with accounting practices.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other team members, fostering collaboration and encouraging growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support onboarding, staffing, and supplier-related financial processes.
• Analyze expense accounts and validate financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders through both written and oral presentations to address accounting concerns and provide recommendations.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience with attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and internal control implementation.
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in preparing financial reports and journal entries.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• CPA certification or a Master’s degree in Accounting is strongly preferred.
• Ability to lead projects and work collaboratively within a team environment.
