    Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Cloud Architect to work on a platform engineering team to produce reusable infrastructure and software components to support a wide variety of large, mission critical, user-facing applications and services produced by multiple project teams. The engineers will be responsible for producing both robust, reusable software solutions and business processes centered around modern, industry standard infrastructure as code and DevOps tools to harden applications, improve resiliency, reduce costs, and accelerate speed of delivery to mission customers.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    + Leverage cloud-native tools to build infrastructure and sustain applications in a cloud environment (AWS preferred)

    + Write cloud infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform preferred)

    + Work with containers and associated technologies such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and Helm

    + Deliver and debug applications written in languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or Ruby running in Linux-based environments

    + Develop software in Python (preferred), Java, or JavaScript

    + Develop scripts and other automation in Python and Shell

    + Deliver and maintain relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, or document databases such as Elasticsearch or Solr, to include managed databases such as AWS Relational Database Service (RDS) or OpenSearch

    + Provide Tier 3 support to debug applications and infrastructure; performing root cause analysis of failures

    + Use Git and working on cross-functional teams with Git-based workflows (GitHub preferred)

    + Implement and maintain encryption technology (X.509 PKI, KMS)

    + Work on cross-functional teams in an agile environment

    + Support system and data security requirements, and document system artifacts required for security certification.

    + Perform cloud performance analysis and optimize distributed cloud systems.

    DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    + Experience with building AWS infrastructure or migrating private on-premise solutions to cloud hosting environments.

    + Firm Relational Database understanding (Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, Kafka)

    + Working knowledge of CloudFormation, Terraform and Ansible.

    + Experience with scripting languages (Shell, Perl, and Python).

    + Experience with SysOPs/DevOps.

    + Ability to perform cloud performance analysis and optimize distributed cloud systems.

    + **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

    + **Security Clearance:** TS/SCI with Polygraph

    The likely salary range for this position is $211,245 - $247,428. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
