Description
Job Summary:
Greenlight Networks is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) Engineer to join our team. The CPE Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of customer premises equipment (CPE) for Internet Service Provider (ISP) customers. The CPE Engineer ensures that customer-facing devices, such as modems, routers, ONUs (Optical Network Units), gateways, and other networking hardware, are properly deployed, integrated, and function optimally to deliver high-quality internet services. The role requires both technical expertise and excellent customer service skills. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that CPE solutions meet performance, reliability, and security standards.
Essential Functions:
+ Design and build custom applications, wireless networks, and RF link performance.
+ Assess deployed hardware reliability.
+ Assess new hardware offerings and benefit to Greenlight.
+ Analyze and troubleshoot software issues of deployed products.
+ Help develop system integration efforts of software and hardware to develop Greenlights performance.
+ Develop, validate, and test software and hardware for new products and software.
+ Install hardware and software, and configure network infrastructure components.
+ Optimize and troubleshoot wireless networks, and maintain equipment.
+ Test and modify equipment, and monitor network performance.
+ Provide technical assessment & support, train staff, and create & maintain documentation.
+ Collaborate with vendors and network managers.
+ Recommend site upgrades and enhancements.
+ Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
+ Managing incidents and outages.
+ Conduct site surveys.
+ Document CPE configurations, best practices, and troubleshooting guides to facilitate knowledge transfer within the team.
+ Update internal resources with troubleshooting techniques, FAQs, and technical guidelines for CPE-related issues.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
+ Experience with WiFi security protocols.
+ Understanding and knowledge in network engineering principles.
+ Ability to utilize network analysis tools.
+ Problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to communicate and present to leadership team.
+ Proficient in using network analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, iperf, ping, traceroute).
Other Requirements
+ Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as: computer science, computer engineering, information technology, network security management, or information systems.
+ 3-5 years' experience working int he computer or network engineering field.
+ Strong understanding of LAN technologies and fundamentals.
+ CCNA, CWNA or equivalent certifications preferred.
Compensation:
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The annual pay range for this position is $90K - $105K. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Expectations:
+ Schedule/hours: Monday -Friday and occasional nights/weekends in the event of network outages/maintenance.
+ Travel:some travel required to other Greenlight Networks markets.
+ Work environment:office setting.
+ Physical demands:ability to lift to 50lbs.
