*Why should you keep reading and consider working here?* The Montana Board of Crime Control (MBCC) was created in 1968 as a planning and research agency under the authority of 2-15-2006, MCA whose goal was, and still is to promote public safety. The MBCC is an 18-member quasi-judicial board appointed by the Governor. MBCC provides financial support, technical assistance, and supportive services to state and local criminal justice agencies. The board provides funding to local, regional, and statewide projects with the central goal of making Montana a safer state. The Montana Board of Crime Control’s mission is to proactively contribute to public safety, crime prevention and victim assistance through planning, policy development and coordination of the justice system in partnership with citizens, government and communities in Montana. In support of this mission, MBCC is comprised of dedicated employees possessing a shared vision of public service for Montana’s most vulnerable citizens. The Executive Director of MBCC reports to the Chairman of the Board and oversees a state agency consisting of twenty-one employees. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Develop and implement the agency’s strategic vision and operational plans. * Oversee day-to-day operations, including budget management, staffing, and program delivery. * Lead and manage a high-performing team, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. * Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including state government leadership, elected officials, grantors, and key stakeholders contributing to the success of the agency’s mission. * Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and regulations. * Represent the agency publicly, advocating for its mission and programs.
