Job Title: Senior Mission Software Engineer
Job Description
As a Senior Mission Software Engineer, you will tackle diverse challenges involving networking, autonomy, systems integration, robotics, and more. You will lead the Maritime Software team, collaborating closely with vehicle platform software engineers to ensure seamless integration of products for critical outcomes. Your role demands a 'Whatever It Takes' mindset, focusing on expedient, scalable, and pragmatic engineering solutions to deliver successful, high-quality results on time.
Responsibilities
+ Own the software solutions deployed to customers.
+ Write code to enhance products for specific mission sets, coordinating with the vehicle software platform team to scale capabilities.
+ Collaborate across teams to plan, build, and test complex functionalities.
+ Create and analyze metrics for debugging and monitoring.
+ Triage issues, identify root causes of failures, and coordinate next steps.
+ Partner with end-users to translate needs into features, balancing user experience with engineering constraints.
+ Travel up to 10% of time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in real-world environments.
Essential Skills
+ Strong engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
+ 3+ years of experience in C++, Python, or Rust in a Linux development environment.
+ Experience in building software solutions involving significant data processing and analysis.
+ Ability to understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases quickly.
+ Desire to work on critical software with real-world impact.
+ Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Strong background in Physics, Mathematics, and/or Motion Planning for modeling & simulation and physical systems.
+ 5+ years of experience in C++ in a Linux development environment.
+ Experience developing and testing multi-agent autonomous systems for real-world deployment.
+ Feature and algorithm development with an understanding of behavior trees.
+ Development of software/hardware for flight systems and safety-critical functionality.
+ Knowledge of distributed communication networks and message standards.
+ Understanding of military systems and operational tactics.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $110.00/hr.
