    Radiology Technician

    Job Description

    As a Radiology Technician, you will be responsible for adjusting equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines. You will position patients for each anatomical view using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary, and accurately process images to demonstrate optimal quality. Additionally, you will understand and demonstrate knowledge of using the digitizer for x-ray interpretation and promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

    Responsibilities

    + Adjust equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques following radiation safety guidelines.

    + Position patients for each anatomical view using necessary immobilization and protective equipment.

    + Accurately process images for optimal quality, critiquing positioning, technical factors, and collimation.

    + Understand and demonstrate the use of the digitizer for x-ray interpretation.

    + Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

    + Verify equipment functions properly and requisition for maintenance, repair, or replacement of defective equipment.

    + Function independently without constant supervision, effectively performing Radiology Technician essential functions.

    + Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure medical equipment is working properly.

    + Demonstrate knowledge of care and handling of surgical instruments.

    + Execute aseptic techniques.

    + Convey written and verbal information accurately and effectively.

    Essential Skills

    + X-ray

    + Radiology

    + ARRT Certified in Radiologic Technology

    + BLS Certification

    + Kansas License

    + General Surgery

    + Imaging

    + Electronic Health Record

    + Customer Service

    + C-arm

    + Digitizer

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school graduate or equivalent.

    + Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology or licensed in the state of employment.

    + New graduates are welcome with great references.

    + Trustworthy and eager to learn.

    + No specific experience needed in general surgery x-rays.

    Work Environment

    This position offers full-time and PRN/part-time opportunities, with the possibility of acquiring 40 hours if desired. The main location is in Overland Park off College Boulevard, with potential float assignments to satellite offices in Lees Summit. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7am to 4:30pm, with open and flexible availability as per the candidate's preference. On-call duties rotate with staff on weekends, and mileage reimbursement is provided for travel beyond the main Overland Park address.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $68640.00 - $74880.00/yr.
