Job Title: VDC DesignerJob Description
As a VDC Designer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of virtual design and construction processes. Your primary responsibilities will include linking Revit files, creating and modifying schedules for drawings, and setting up view filters and templates. You will be responsible for accurately laying out conduit racks with proper parameters and ensuring that all modeling is done to avoid clashes. Additionally, you will model electrical equipment and light fixtures in accordance with project specifications and submittals, and perform clash detection tests. Your role will also involve reviewing and marking up drawings, placing and coding APL points, and exporting point files from projects.
Responsibilities
+ Link Revit files and manage schedules for drawings.
+ Set up view filters and templates for projects.
+ Layout conduit racks with correct parameters, spacing, and sizing.
+ Model electrical equipment and light fixtures following project specs.
+ Perform clash detection and export NWC files for tests.
+ Review, markup, and ensure corrections on drawings by others.
+ Place and code APL points and export point files from projects.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in BIM, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
+ Experience with BIM 360 and electrical systems.
+ BS in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or BIM Technology.
+ 5-7 years of field and/or technical experience, or 3-4 years of software experience.
+ Advanced understanding of NEC and BICSI codes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in electrical and specialty systems field.
+ Job-related experience in 2D and 3D modeling.
+ Familiarity with Google Suite, Smartsheet, and Excel.
Work Environment
The work environment involves collaborative use of advanced design software such as Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam. You will work in a dynamic setting that requires coordination with various project teams. The role may require occasional site visits to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $88000.00/yr.
