    Safety Manager  Vinton & Lake Charles

     

    Southland Holdings is seeking a highly motivated Safety Professional to oversee all safety aspects of our large bridge project in Illinois. We are offering relocation assistance for those that qualify.

    + Vinton project (2736) consists of several miles of highway improvements with bridges located along I-10 from TX state border into Louisiana.

    + Lake Charles (2746) is a bridge project spanning navigable waterway into the port of Lake Charles.

    Key Responsibilities;

    + Oversee and enforce all company and regulatory safety policies across assigned projects.

    + Conduct safety audits, inspections, and accident investigations. Ensure corrective actions are implemented.

    + Develop and deliver safety orientations and training programs to project employees and subcontractors.

    + Coordinate with PM and Superintendents to ensure field operations align with safety requirements per the Company Safety and Health manual.

    + Maintain accurate safety documentation and compliance records.

    + Serve as the safety lead of OSHA inspections and incident response.

    + Travel to and manage safety across multiple project sites as needed.

    Qualifications:

    + 5+ years of Heavy Highway/Civil/Bridge Construction Experience is required.

    + Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 standards/LADOTD Regulations/DOT Regulations.

    + CHST certification preferred (or ability to obtain).

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems.

    + Ability to relocate and manage multiple projects.

    + Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
