We are looking for a Professional Counselor to provide clinical assessment and treatment of clients with various mental health diagnoses, substance use disorders, medication-assisted treatment, and high-risk patients in crisis. The clinician completes comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, screenings, and treatment via individual/family/group therapy, as well as discharge plans for patients and families as needed. The clinician works on an interdisciplinary treatment team in order to provide comprehensive care, as well as continuity of care, and will prepare and send progress reports to the appropriate social service agencies and referral sources as required. The clinician may also assist in the acquisition of appropriate resources as needed. The clinician may also collect routine urine drug samples for labs and rapid assessment if required.

Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) or a Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT) plus two years of counseling experience.

Job Duties:
+ Completes intake and psycho-social evaluations on primarily adults and some aftercare individuals, which includes providing technical and clinical input on diagnosis and treatment in the interdisciplinary staff consultation with staff prescribers to establish an individual's treatment plan for each individual in treatment.
+ Completes correspondence, written reports, and other communications with other agencies regarding an individual's care
+ May provide crisis evaluation for individuals who are in acute distress as indicated by a family member, coroner, law authorities, etc., which may require complex and specialized crisis intervention, psychosocial evaluation, and specialized clinical treatment.

Compensation: This position is eligible for premium pay of $1.00/hour for hours worked performing direct patient care.
The following rates are Special Entrance Rates (SER) established for this agency in these job titles:
+ Professional Counselor 3 : $22.76/hour minimum - $37.88/hour maximum
+ Professional Counselor 4 : $24.35/hour minimum - $40.53/hour maximum
Career Progression: Professional Counselor 3 or a Professional Counselor 4
