    We are seeking a dedicated, attention to detail person who must possess word processing computer skills and be familiar with basic medical terminology for the medical records department of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center. This role plays a part in maintaining the medical records of the people we support here at Pinecrest Supports and Services Center

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    + Responsible for maintaining records for individuals supported at PSSC including inactive records.

    + Reviews, classifies and maintains individual records by filing in accordance with facility guidelines.

    + Ensure retention information is being kept or purged as required by guidelines.

    + Responsible for filing and purging of quarterly Profile of Supports and annual Individual Support Plan in individual records.

    + Ensure the individual's identifying data is included on each page. Ensure all documents are legible and where appropriate, an authorized duplicate of the original.

    + Ensure identifiable health information is secure and meets HIPPA privacy compliance.

    + Responsible for maintaining current, archival, death and discharge records.

    + Compose and type release of information cover letters for APS disclosures.

    + Conduct weekly audits to ensure records are accounted for on the home.

    + Assist and communicate with professional staff concerning problem resolution with regard to the individual's health information.

    + Audit individual records for work product quality and compliance with the facility's policy and procedures and legal requirements (Title XIX, Standards and Payments, etc.) content, completeness, and accuracy.

    + Create new records for individuals admitted to PSSC.

    + Ensure archival, death and discharge records are secure and accessible to authorized personnel as defined by PSSC policies and in compliance with HIPPA regulations.

    + Assist in preparation of records for legal cases and external disclosures per supervisor's request.

    Position-Specific Details:

    Shift: 8:00am – 4:30pm Pass Days : Sat/Sun

     

    Appointment Type: This position may be filled byProbation, Promotion, Demotion, Lateral Transfer or Detail to Special Duty. Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center.
