    Summary:

    + The Senior Metadata Analyst will play a pivotal role in helping drive the technology and metadata operation standards for data governance and delivery solutions throughout Huntington Bank.

    + Senior Metadata Analysts support metadata management operations and operations of the comprehensive data inventory. Their experiences in all phases of the data lifecycle and team-oriented collaboration will facilitate the transformation of Huntington’s data strategy and support the data users’ business needs. The Senior Metadata Analyst executes reporting and analysis needs for various end users, management, project teams, clients, and peers, focusing on the identification of metadata, reference data, and quality issues, as well as potential solutions.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Coordinate and assist in the maintenance of data in and continuous Improvement of the metadata and reference data repository.

    + Update areas of the metadata and reference data repository where appropriate based on input from technical or business stakeholders

    + Use business acumen and functional stakeholder input to understand data needed for process enablement, to locate the needed data, and to translate to the right measures at the right granularity to answer the question being asked with appropriate presentation.

    + Partner with technical and business stakeholders with finding answers to metadata and reference data questions generated through normal business operations.

    + Collaborate with business and IT colleagues to define and document data and metric definitions.

    + Build strong working relationships throughout the enterprise.

    + Partner with Data Curators and Trustees to understand business rules behind available data to enable proper interpretation for metrics.

    + Work with internal groups in resolving data concerns.

    + Identify and interpret trends and/or patterns within complex data sets.

    + Diagnose issues with existing platform configurations and provide recommendations for improvement.

    + Build custom integrations and various data stores.

    + Help manage ongoing data cleansing and harmonization of metadata and reference data for internal databases.

    + Serve as a functional expert on our data systems & reporting tools, while communicating with other teams via robust data storytelling.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Basic Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in business Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or 4+ years of related experience working with data.

    + Hands-on experience working with metadata and reference data frameworks, and experience in metadata and/or data quality monitoring

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Data Curiosity: Demonstrates genuine interest in exploring data patterns and anomalies and proactively seeks insights without always being directed

    + Attention to Detail: Ensures data accuracy and precision and performs QA on rules, and datasets

    + Understanding of Data Privacy and Compliance: Awareness of data governance and data management practices, including basic regulatory compliance

    + Tool/Tech Agility: Comfortable learning new tools and technologies, including metadata, quality, data catalogs and coding platforms/languages

    + Data Documentation: Skillset for developing clear and concise documentation for datasets, queries, data dictionaries and processes to support team

    + Problem Solving Orientation: Applies structured thinking, to break down data problems and seeks logical data driven answers that are easily understandable

    + Adaptably: Able to pivot quickly when priorities change and actively seeks learning opportunities

    + Collaboration and Teamwork: Works effectively within cross-functional teams, contributing to a positive team culture and shared goals.

    Compensation Range:

    57,000.00 - 113,000.00 USD Annual

     

    The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.  Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.  In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
