    Job Title: Field Service Technician (Lv 3)

    Job Description

    Join a leading manufacturer of custom-engineered electrical gear for the energy, industrial, and critical infrastructure sectors as a Field Service Technician. This role involves traveling across the country to client sites for field installations, troubleshooting, and equipment commissioning. You will read schematics and scopes of work to install and terminate control panels, breakers, power systems, transformers, motor control centers (MCC's), and switch gears. Collaborate with clients to troubleshoot issues, complete safety assessments, field reports, and testing results, and coordinate with the shop and engineers at headquarters to communicate issues.

    Must Haves

    + 10 years of industrial electrical experience.

    + Field service experience.

    + Ability to independently install and terminate control panels, motor control centers, breakers, transformers, and complex power systems.

    + Proficient in testing using multimeters, megohmmeters, and phase testers.

    + Ability to read schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring layouts.

    + Willingness to travel nationwide.

    + TWIC Card.

    Job Duties

    + Travel nationwide to perform field installations and equipment commissioning.

    + Read schematics and scopes of work for installation and termination of electrical systems.

    + Install and terminate control panels, motor control centers, breakers, transformers, and complex power systems.

    + Conduct troubleshooting and collaborate with clients to resolve issues.

    + Complete safety assessments, field reports, and testing results.

    + Coordinate with shop and engineers at headquarters to communicate issues.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The role involves sporadic travel, potentially being away for a month or working weeks in the shop. Field service is typically day shift, Monday to Friday, with varying hours based on client sites. When traveling, expect long hours to complete jobs, while home-based work in Houston may align closer to a 40-hour week but can be busy. The medium-sized, fast-paced production shop is clean and organized, with open bay doors and fans providing ventilation. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, work shirt, and safety glasses.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, Texas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
