Jabil is expanding! We have an exciting opportunity for a strategic Facilities Manager to drive facilities operations for our new site in Salisbury, NC (near Charlotte)!
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Facilities Manager to lead the development and operational readiness of a new electronics manufacturing site currently in the construction phase. This role requires deep expertise in brownfield and/or greenfield projects, with a strong focus on infrastructure planning, utilities, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate will ensure the facility is built to support high-tech manufacturing operations and will transition seamlessly into ongoing facilities management post-construction.
This is an on site role in Salisbury, NC.
Relocation available!
This role may require extensive travel to Jabil’s Florence, KY site during the first 3–6 months for training, team integration, and operational alignment.
How will you make an impact?
Manages the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities. Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs. Designs and develops organizational policies relevant to the facilities department . Oversees the coordination of building space allocation , occupancy and layout optimization , communication services and facilities expansion. May have responsibility for establishing and overseeing health , property accessibility / mobility and safety standards. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Manage and d rives site energy efficiency strategy , sustainability and energy savings initiatives .
What will you do?
Construction & Commissioning Phase:
+ Lead facilities planning and execution for a new electronics manufacturing site (brownfield or greenfield).
+ Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to ensure facility design meets operational and regulatory requirements.
+ Oversee installation and commissioning of critical systems (HVAC, cleanrooms, compressed air, power distribution, ESD controls, etc.).
+ Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance during construction and fit-out.
+ Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
Operational Readiness & Transition:
+ Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all facility systems.
+ Establish SOPs for facilities operations, emergency response, and sustainability initiatives.
+ Hire, train, and lead a facilities team to support ongoing operations.
+ Coordinate with manufacturing, IT, and EHS teams to ensure seamless startup and ramp-up.
Post-Construction Facilities Management:
+ Manage day-to-day operations of the facility, including utilities, maintenance, janitorial, and security services.
+ Monitor facility performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
+ Lead capital improvement projects and site expansions as needed.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
Work Environment:
+ Combination of office, construction site, and manufacturing floor environments.
+ Requires PPE and adherence to safety protocols during construction and operations.
+ May involve occasional travel to vendor sites or corporate headquarters.
How will you get here?
Education:
+ Bachelors degree in Engineering highly preferred
Experience:
+ 10 years of experience in an industrial facilities maintenance role with 5 years at a manager level.
+ Proven experience managing brownfield or greenfield construction projects in a high-tech or electronics manufacturing environment.
+ Strong knowledge of building systems, cleanroom standards, and manufacturing infrastructure.
+ Excellent project management, budgeting, and vendor negotiation skills.
+ Familiarity with ISO, OSHA, EPA, and local regulatory requirements.
+ Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
+ Skills in HVAC and Electrical a must
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
+ Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate regarding common scientific and/or technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
+ Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the finance & business community.
+ Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Executive presentations.
+ Advanced PC skills related to Facilities functions ( AutoCAD, Project, etc.) , including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
+ Ability to tailor advanced quality tools training to all levels of the organization.
+ Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
+ Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
+ Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
+ Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
+ Ability to interact with Real Estate representatives, area and region industrial propert ies familiarized with.
+ Knowledge of area utilities options and feasibilities .
+ Strong knowledge of global and regional logistics operations and industry.
+ Strong proficiency in determining logistics requirements to enable company’s business goals and objectives with ability to devise and implement strategy to achieve targets.
+ Strong financial and analytical ability. Proficiency in managing business analytics to determine optimum company footprint.
+ Strong knowledge of international direct and indirect taxes as well as global customs regimes.
+ Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.
+ Strong and convincing communication skills .
+ Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required .
