What does a successful Senior DevOps Engineer do at BentoBox?

The BentoBox Marketing and Commerce Platform delivers a seamless guest experience dedicated to accelerating growth and helping restaurants thrive. BentoBox empowers modern restaurants to build their online presence, diversify revenue, engage with diners, and increase operational efficiency. To do so, the platform includes products such as websites, ordering (online ordering, pre-order & catering, gift cards, merchandise, tickets), events management, and marketing tools. We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to help build and support the cloud infrastructure for the world’s best digital operations platform for restaurants.

What you will do:

+ Design, implement, and maintain scalable AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform

+ Optimize cloud resources for cost-effectiveness and performance

+ Implement and maintain infrastructure monitoring, logging, and alerting systems

+ Ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities across all environments

+ Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions

+ Automate deployment processes across development, staging, and production environments

+ Implement infrastructure as code best practices and version control

+ Configure and optimize Fastly CDN for global content delivery and performance

+ Implement and manage WAF for application protection

+ Conduct security assessments and implement security best practices

+ Monitor application and infrastructure performance, identifying optimization opportunities

+ Work closely with development teams to streamline deployment processes

+ Participate in on-call rotations and incident response procedures

+ Uphold BentoBox’s core mission, vision, and values

What you will need to have:

+ 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related roles

+ Expert-level AWS knowledge including EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation

+ Advanced Terraform experience for infrastructure provisioning and management

+ Proficiency with GitHub Actions for building CI/CD pipelines

+ Experience with Fastly CDN configuration and optimization

+ Knowledge of web application firewalls

+ Strong understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

+ Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash)

+ Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic, or similar)

+ Strong understanding of networking concepts, DNS, and load balancing

+ Experience with database administration and optimization

+ Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks

+ Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

+ Strong communication and collaboration abilities

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

Salary Range

$124,300.00 - $213,100.00

_These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey, New York and California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ._
