    **_Job Title:_** _Estimator_

    _Job Summary:_

    The Estimator is responsible for estimating and performing cost analysis on all types of electrical construction projects.

    _Duties and responsibilities_

    + Review and evaluate project plans and specifications, bid documents, and other relevant project documents to identify what is needed for a project and to create a bid proposal.

    + Calculate the cost of electrical construction based on reviewing and evaluating available documents.

    + Analyze project for value engineering options while taking into account specific job conditions that may affect labor and material to be purchased and installed.

    + Identify any inconsistent issues, conflicts, and other problems in the bid documents.

    + Identify strategies to create bid advantages.

    + Anticipate potential problems and devise solutions proactively.

    + Request material and equipment quotes from vendors and equipment suppliers.

    + Reviews quotes to confirm adherence to quote requests and accuracy of quotes received.

    + Develops and maintains a positive relationship with vendors.

    + Prepares bid documents including specific scope letter for each project, “Blue Sheets” and “Evaluations” with adjustments for buy-outs, labor rate, productivity, etc.

    + Assist in preparing budget pricing.

    + Keeps Dynalectric management, project management, clients, general contractors, and all others involved in projects current on bid progress.

    _Qualifications include:_

    + At least 5 years of experience in the estimating and/or electrical industry role

    + BSc/BA in in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or related field

    + Knowledgeable with a wide variety of electrical materials and methods of installation

    + Proven successful experience in the following estimating market sectors:

    + Large Mission Critical projects

    + healthcare

    + Multi-story/Mixed-use Commercial buildings

    + Proficient in Bluebeam Review is preferred

    + Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Accubid Classic/Pro estimating software

    + Accubid Live Count experience is a plus

    + Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills

    + Proficient with vendor review and analysis process

     

    _Working Conditions:_

     

    Mostly office based. Typical working hours for an Estimator may vary. Generally, Monday – Friday during normal business hours, but when deadlines approach, they may be required to work much longer hours, including some weekend work. Some travel may be required for training/continuing education.

    _Physical requirements:_

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an Estimator to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

     

    The Estimator is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
