    Job Skills / Requirements

     

    We are looking for a knowledgeable Sr. Payroll Specialist to process and manage the company’s payroll. You will be the one to calculate wages based on hours worked and administer payments.

     

    A Senior Payroll Specialist requires a combination of strong technical skills, particularly in payroll processing and compliance, along with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Key requirements include experience with a fast pace, high volume multi-state payroll software and systems, and a thorough understanding of relevant laws and regulations. The goal is to ensure personnel receive the correct compensation in a timely manner.

     

    Position is an in-office position.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • End-to-end payroll processing using Winteam and ADP Smart Compliance

    • Maintain and process payroll records and reports for accounting of salary/wages due, accruals, deductions and other payroll related duties.

    • Compliance – Ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations

    • Troubleshooting and problem solving – Addressing payroll related inquiries and escalating when necessary

    • Audit current processes to reduce the number of payroll related errors

    • Provide support to leadership as tasks are assigned

    • Acquiring proper approval from upper management for additional payments when needed

    • Process and respond to Garnishment notices

    • Prepare reports for management, finance department etc.

    Requirements and Skills:

    + Proven experience with multi-state high volume payrolls with at least 5+ years of Payroll Experience

    + Proficiency in calculations, data analysis, and problem-solving is needed to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing

    + A strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements is essential.

    + A willingness to learn new systems and processes, adapt to changing regulations, and resolve complex payroll issues.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for interacting with employees, managers, and other stakeholders on payroll-related matters.

    + The ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment.

    + A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is critical for avoiding errors in payroll calculations and data entry.

    + Prior leadership experience.

    + Proficient in MS Office and knowledge of relevant software (e.g. ADP) and databases

    + High school diploma or equivalent; BSc/BA in business, accounting or relevant field is a plus

    + Providing excellent customer service to employees regarding their pay and benefits.

    + Willingness and ability to work in a team, under pressure and meet deadlines

    + Action oriented / initiative approach to work
