Laboratory Technician - #Staff

We are seeking a **_Laboratory Technician_** who is interested in spending one or two years performing full-time research in the area of epigenetics of DNA repair. Our research is focused on understanding how chromatin composition and RNA/DNA secondary structures alter genome maintenance.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
+ Work closely with a senior lab member to advance a related research project.
+ Receive direct mentorship and training on a range of techniques including molecular biology, cell biology, immunofluorescence imaging and next-generation sequencing.
+ Organization and maintenance of the lab’s operations (e.g. placing orders, maintaining equipment and reagent stocks).
+ Assist with animal breeding and genotyping, bleeding and injection of animals according to protocols, as needed, and compile and maintain animal logs related to experimentation and genotyping mice.
Minimum Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or graduation equivalent with some science coursework.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree, certificate from technical institute or internship experience preferred.
+ Experience in mammalian cell culture, molecular biology and/or bioinformatic approaches is a plus.
+ Experience using Microsoft applications and data analysis
+ Ability to work under environmental conditions that require the use of safety equipment.

Starting Salary Range: Min $15.40 - Max $23.25 HRLY (45,000 Targeted; Commensurate w/experience)

The listed salary range represents the minimum and maximum Johns Hopkins University offers for this position, based on a good faith estimate at the time of posting.
