    Position: Special Education Teacher

     

    Start Date: July or August 2025

     

    Duration: Full 2025–2026 School Year + Extended School Year (ESY)

     

    Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

     

    Pay Rate: Up to $60/hour (based on experience

    Job Description

    Amergis is working with a private, publicly funded special education day school. Serving students ages 3–22 with extensive support needs—including complex medical needs—the school is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join their transdisciplinary team.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

    + Attend and participate in IEP meetings

    + Supervise, train, and evaluate classroom support staff and volunteers

    + Lead weekly team meetings to review student progress and classroom needs

    + Complete lesson plans, quarterly reports, educational assessments, and MCAS Alternate Assessments

    + Attend staff meetings, in-service trainings, and supervision sessions

    + Collaborate with leadership to develop curriculum and instructional strategies

    + Serve as liaison to families and local educational agencies

    + Support student transitions and ensure access to appropriate materials and equipment

    Preferred Experience

    + Experience working with students with severe disabilities

    + Familiarity with complex medical and educational needs

    Required Credentials

    + Massachusetts teaching license in Severe Disabilities (mild/mod waiver may be considered)
