UPMC’s Western Behavioral Health's Comprehensive Recovery Services (CRS) Program is looking for a Behavioral Health Therapist II to join our Outpatient Treatment team! Located in Oakland, we primarily treat clients ages 18-65 with significant mental illness (SMI) such as Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders and Bipolar Disorder, and Major Depressive Disorder. Our team works collaboratively to ensure that clients receive a high level of care throughout the course of their treatment. This is a unique opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team and work in collaboration with physicians, therapists, nurses, and other support team members! We provide both in person and telehealth individual and group therapy services, along with medication management.
Our Behavioral Health Therapists are eligible for a sign on bonus!!
1 year - $5000
2 year - $7000
3 year - $10,000
Responsibilities:
+ Maintains daily clinical productivity records.
+ Provides individual and group therapy in home, school, and community settings; involves families when appropriate.
+ Educates patients on recovery as needed.
+ Participates in treatment team meetings to review cases and update plans.
+ Uses evidence-based treatment approaches.
+ Conducts assessments and makes clinical decisions on treatment and referrals.
+ Develops comprehensive treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
+ Supports regulatory and licensure preparation with leadership.
+ Manages administrative tasks independently (e.g., caseload, census).
+ Documents all clinical activities per guidelines.
+ Continuously develops clinical skills and adopts new treatment methods.
+ Reviews complex cases with supervisors and clinical staff.
+ Completes same-day documentation and supports insurance authorization.
+ Mentors student interns.
+ Engages in quality assurance and performance improvement efforts.
+ Adjusts treatment plans based on evolving patient needs across settings.
+ Coordinates referrals to other care levels or community resources.
Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
Two years of clinical experience diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions required.
Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of current version of the DSM required.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Clinical Social Worker (CSW) OR Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist OR Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
