Insurance Verification Specialist - Fulltime

Salary Range: $18.00 - $21.00 Hourly
Role and Responsibilities
The Insurance Specialist is r esponsible for initial insurance verification and authorization for all referrals made to HCR , as requested by clinicians and Intake staff .
Essential Functions
+ Enter payer and authorization detail s in agency EMR.
+ Complete assigned insurance related tasks in a timely manner , based on business demands and/or clinical needs.
+ Communicate insurance verification/authorization status and/or problems to clinical staff.
+ Provide excellent customer service.
+ Produce work that is complete and represents high - quality.
+ Report potential incidents of non-compliance or conflict of interest to management.
+ Participate in department and agency meetings.
+ Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements
+ High School diploma required
+ Associates degree preferred.
Qualifications and Requirements
+ One year of experience handling a high volume of insurance authorizations in health care.
+ Ability to work as a member of the team and also independently maintain assigned work responsibilities.
+ Strong communication and data entry skills.
+ Strong time management and organizational skills.
Work Environment
The Insurance Specialist is primarily in an office setting and may be exposed to outdoor conditions.
The working conditions are classified as sedentary work:
+ Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
