Job Description
The Michigan Civil Service Commission, Office of Human Resources, serving the Michigan State Police (MSP) is looking for a motivated student who loves learning, is detail oriented, and is interested in working in a professional and fast-paced Human Resources environment. This position will serve as a Human Resources Student Assistant performing payroll and hiring activities for the Michigan State Police.
Ideal candidates will have:
+ Ability to be detail oriented and apply knowledge to prevent potential issues.
+ Ability to read and follow written directions and learn new programs quickly.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required Education and Experience
This position generally requires current enrollment in high school, vocational or technical school, or post-secondary educational institutions. Specific information on the education and experience required for different class levels is in thejob specifications of the Student Assistant class. Alternate Education and Experience
Student Assistant positions cannot exceed 129 working hours in a calendar monthand must be enrolled in at least six credit hours per term, providing proof of enrollment at the start of each term. Student Assistant appointments end the month in which the student graduates or is no longer enrolled in school. A Student Assistant position cannot exceed six years unless otherwise approved by Human Resources.
