Some of what you'll be doing:
As a Credit Supervisor, you will supervise the credit analyst team responsible for loss recovery and collection efforts on the entire receivables' accounts, ensuring any arrears are collected or recovered in a timely manner. You will serve as subject-matter expert and liaise with various departments and external customers to address challenging and sensitive customer payment issues, such as filings on surety and bankruptcy claims.
+ You will provide directions to a team, including setting job expectations, assigning tasks, reviewing and approving work, managing job performance, and ensuring timely and appropriate decisions are made.
+ You will review and approve direct reports' work, as a delegated authority, write-offs and refunds to customers in compliance with contract terms, tariffs, legal regulations and policy.
+ You will provide technical support to the team, including reviewing customer account reconciliation prepared to resolve customer inquiries and reviewing the filing of surety or bankruptcy claim.
+ You will oversee and ensure the completion of monthly tasks, production of dunning letters, review late fee reconciliations, and maintenance of customer accounts.
+ You will monitor the proper assignment of dispute and collection flags in enterprise Accounts Receivable (AR) module and monitor performance of third-party collection agency and approve vendor payments.
+ You will serve as the subject-matter expert on credit and collection with advice to the operation management team and legal on surety/security requirements, payment terms and delinquent charges on draft contracts, payment plans, tariffs, surety bond/letter of credit provisions.
+ You will make procedural recommendations for business process optimization during upgrading or implementation of new software systems.
+ You will support internal and external audits by timely response to questions from auditors regarding customer accounts and follow up on outstanding confirmation letters with customers if needed. You will also offer guidance to team members who need directions on responses to auditors.
Who you are:
+ **Experienced** – You have three (3) years of experience in accounting operations and systems including account receivables, billing, credit, collections and related reporting, to include one (1) year of supervisory/lead experience and/or experience leading a project or process.
+ **Desired** – We hope you have a bachelor’s degree in business, or related field. We hope you have a Certification from National Association of Credit Management (NACM).

+ **Analytical** – You have analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and high level of accuracy. You can gather, analyze and synthesize complex data to inform strategy and process improvement. You also have troubleshooting and analysis skills to identify root causes and provide solutions in a timely manner.
+ **Decision-Maker** – You have strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills, with ability to resolve conflict or issues related to complex issues. You also exercise sound judgment and decision making on escalations and collectability of accounts, and coach staff on the same.
What else you need to know:
+ **Work Schedule** – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to work during emergencies.
+ **Work Environment** - This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.
+ **Washington State Residency Requirement** – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
