Job Summary

As the Assistant General Manager at Rhodes College, you will support the General Manager in leading all aspects of dining operations, ensuring high-quality service and client satisfaction within budgetary guidelines. You will focus on operational excellence, safety, compliance, and team development while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Support daily operations including food service, sanitation, and safety standards.

+ Assist in budgeting, cost controls, and inventory management.

+ Hire, train, and mentor frontline and management staff.

+ Lead by example to maintain positive relationships with clients, employees, and campus partners.

+ Oversee purchasing, food production, and menu planning in coordination with culinary leadership.

+ Ensure compliance with HACCP standards and local health regulations.

+ Implement programs that drive employee engagement, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.

+ 5–7 years of progressive experience in upscale food service, with at least 1 year in multi-unit or high-volume management.

+ Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.

+ Experience in large-scale catering operations is strongly preferred.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of food management systems a plus.

+ ServSafe or similar food safety certification is a plus.
