Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Senior Welder to help support the SACSS program in Chula Vista, California.

This is an onsite position, and no relocation assistance is provided.

Must be a US Citizen

Job Description:

+ Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other materials that require welding.

+ Works from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts, or work orders.

+ Lays out and marks points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.

+ Uses measuring instruments and hand tools to positions pieces requiring welding into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps.

+ Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.

+ Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced welders.

+ May serve as a team leader.

+ Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

+ Participates in special projects, as required.

Requirements:

+ US Citizen

+ HS/GED

+ Technical or vocational training

+ 5+ years of experience, including Pipe welding

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $29.81 - $40.33. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
