Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Clinical Dietician Lead, you will be responsible for the patient nutritional assessment, care plans, and diet education.

+ You will perform nutritional assessments for patients by the protocols set by the clinical nutrition dept

+ You will assess patient nutritional needs, screen patients at risk

+ You will interpret, negotiate, calculate, and execute physician orders for modified diets

+ You will develop and implement nutrition care plans

+ You will provide written and verbal education to patients and families on nutritional needs as ordered by MD, or other members of the hospital staff

+ You will record and document appropriate information in Meditech and in patient medical records. Accurately processes and records patient charges for nutrition services

+ You will develop, review, and revise the patient instructional materials and diet manual

+ You will maintain and submit statistical data as assigned

+ You will demonstrate the ability to analyze a situation, identify the process and make appropriate decisions

+ You will possess thorough and current knowledge of theory and practices of nutritional care

+ You will provide mentoring and positive/constructive feedback on complex issues

+ You will communicate and cooperate with all hospital personnel to achieve the overall objectives of the Food service department

What qualifications you will need:

+ 3+ years of Registered Dietitian and 1 year combination of training/experience in Critical Care setting

+ Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition

+ Current Registered Dietitian license with the state of Texas
