Job Title: Senior Cloud Administrator (NEI-13)
CyberData Technologies is seeking a Senior Cloud Administrator to lead the design, optimization, and support of advanced cloud infrastructure for NEI. This strategic role requires deep technical expertise in cloud platforms, cloud migrations, systems architecture, and storage solutions—with a strong emphasis on experience with Azure VMware Solution (AVS) and migrating on-premises storage to the cloud.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & Architecture
+ Design and implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across Microsoft Azure (including Azure VMware Solution), AWS, and Google Workspace FedRAMP environments.
+ Lead the migration of on-premises storage systems to cloud-based platforms, ensuring secure, performant, and cost-effective outcomes.
+ Architect and manage scalable cloud storage solutions (e.g., Azure Blob, AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage) to support enterprise applications, backups, and archival needs.
+ Assess legacy systems for cloud readiness and develop detailed migration strategies.
+ Execute data and application migrations with minimal service disruption.
+ Maintain and optimize virtual machine images and cloud-based hosting across multiple providers.
Security & Compliance
+ Implement robust security protocols, access controls, and encryption strategies for both infrastructure and storage.
+ Conduct regular risk assessments and apply mitigation strategies.
+ Ensure full compliance with NIH, HHS, and federal cybersecurity and data governance requirements.
Business Continuity, Backup & Disaster Recovery
+ Design and maintain cloud-native backup and disaster recovery solutions, including redundancy, versioning, and geo-replication.
+ Maintain and regularly update Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP) tailored to cloud infrastructure and storage systems.
System Monitoring & Support
+ Monitor cloud resource and storage usage, optimizing for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related infrastructure and storage issues.
+ Conduct periodic system performance reviews and recommend technical improvements.
Technical Consulting & Knowledge Sharing
+ Serve as a technical advisor to NEI stakeholders for cloud strategy, architecture, and migration planning.
+ Provide knowledge transfer and training on cloud infrastructure, storage design, and operational best practices.
Required Qualifications
Experience
+ Minimum 7 years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or systems design.
+ Direct experience with Azure VMware Solution (AVS) in production environments.
+ Proven experience migrating on-premises storage systems to cloud storage platforms, including planning and implementation.
+ Strong familiarity with cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and/or Google Workspace FedRAMP.
Technical Skills
+ Deep expertise in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and hybrid-cloud integration.
+ Proficiency in cloud storage services such as Azure Blob, AWS S3/Glacier, Google Cloud Storage, and cloud-based file and block storage.
+ Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, security controls, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
Preferred Certifications
+ Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure VMware Solution specialization
+ AWS Certified Solutions Architect
+ Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
+ CompTIA Cloud+ or Security+
Soft Skills
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication.
+ Ability to manage complex projects and collaborate across technical teams.
