    Mid-Level Real Estate (Leasing & Acquisitions) Associate - New York, NY

    **Description:** We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated mid-level Real Estate Associate to join our New York office. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience with a strong focus on leasing and acquisitions, including ground leases, retail, industrial, and warehouse transactions. This role will support a major national client in a fast-paced, high-volume practice. We are not currently accepting resumes from search firms for this position.

    Qualifications:

    + JD from an accredited law school; admitted to practice in New York.

    + Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, with a focus on leasing and acquisitions.

    + Experience with national retail clients or institutional landlords is strongly preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

    + Strong research, writing skills, and academic record.

    + Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.

    + Experience in the retail industry, commercial real estate, and land use law.

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic real estate team.

    + Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Manage real estate transactions for various asset classes, including retail, office, and industrial properties.

    + Negotiate and draft lease agreements, purchase contracts, and other related legal documents.

    + Handle a wide variety of commercial real estate matters for clients including property transactions and due diligence.

    + Lead and support complex leasing transactions, including ground leases and build-to-suit arrangements.

    + Conduct due diligence and title/survey review for acquisitions and development projects.

    + Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants on environmental, survey, title, zoning, and permitting matters.

    + Manage client communications and expectations on high-volume matters.

    Work Environment & Physical Demands

    + This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.

    Physical Requirements

    + Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.

    Visual Acuity

    + Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

    Compensation & Benefits

    + The salary range for this position applies to New York. The salary range reflects a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $225,000 to $250,000 in New York.
