Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Torrance, California. This Contract-to-permanent position offers a hybrid work setting, requiring in-office attendance two days per week. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting processes and demonstrate strong project management and communication skills. This role requires bilingual fluency in Tagalog and offers excellent long-term potential.

Responsibilities:

• Manage bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, accounts payable and receivable processing, expense reimbursements, and journal entry preparation.

• Assist with monthly and year-end financial close processes, such as preparing journal entries, reconciling bank accounts, and maintaining subledgers.

• Generate balance sheets, income statements, and customized financial reports based on client requirements.

• Support clients in responding to external auditor information requests.

• Prepare and process various tax forms and payments, including sales and use tax, property tax, and informational returns.

• Perform financial statement reviews, compilations, and other attestation services as needed.

• Prepare individual and corporate tax returns with a high degree of accuracy.

• Collaborate with clients to ensure financial records adhere to reporting standards and deadlines.

• Occasionally travel locally to client sites, based on specific project needs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, attestation, or tax preparation.

• Background in public accounting or a related field is highly desirable.

• A degree in accounting or a related major is preferred.

• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification is a strong advantage.

• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Sage, NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.

• Experience with month-end close processes, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.

• This role requires bilingual fluency in Tagalog and offers excellent long-term potential.
