The Engineering Manager must take the lead in directing and delegating resources to meet Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Delivery targets; implementation timetables, production support requirements, and field problems within the BU and deliver quick resolution.
The Engineering Manager is given the responsibility for the following:
• Equipment and Building Maintenance to provide technical support in the area of equipment uptime and new equipment implementation
• Manufacturing Engineering to facilitate continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Productivity and Delivery
• Automation Department to guide and assist in the resolution of manufacturing problems through automated equipment
• Toolroom in production and repair of injection molding tooling to support the needs of production
• Has the authority to utilize the resources at his/her disposal in such a way as to achieve the specific requirements; shall recommend resource allocations and participate in the establishment of specific requirements.
• Coordinate the activities of supporting personnel (Engineers and Drafters on all projects assigned). Actively support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Make efficient use of and help develop relevant standards.
• Direct liaison between vendors and purchasing department when required.
• Perform the administrative functions on budgeting, spending control, salary/performance reviews, capital planning and participate in the tooling program requirements.
• Develop policies and procedures as required
• Support Win Strategy initiatives.
• Perform other duties as responsibilities necessitate.
Bachelor’s Degree, Engineering Discipline preferred
-Five years manufacturing operations or engineering experience.
-Previous experience with direct reports preferred
-Must demonstrate effective organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
-PC Literate (AutoCAD, Inventor, MS Word, Excel, Access, Project)
