    The **Boeing Defense Space and Security** (BDS) is looking for an **Associate or Mid-Level Software Integration Systems Engineer** to join their team in **Richardson, TX** . This position will serve as an individual contributor for the P-8A Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) Training Systems Integration and Test team.

     

    The Integration and Test team provides software integration for the P-8A AAS Training Systems, which consists of a weapons trainer simulator, electronic classroom for desktop instruction, and a mission planning station. This position will support the software team in the integration of the AAS software baselines. The position requires collaboration with the software owners to ensure proper device operation after the software components are integrated.

     

    The ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently in a challenging, fast-paced environment. This position requires a lot of collaboration with other teams and the customer, strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. The candidate will support the training devices in Dallas as well as retrofitting the training devices at customer sites.

    Position Responsibilities Include:

    + Maintain P-8A AAS training devices operational

    + Integration of locally developed software into the training devices

    + Integration and troubleshooting of software from outside entities, requiring external support for configuration and troubleshooting

    + Install and configure Windows and Linux virtual machines to meet cyber security requirements. Install and test monthly patches on the operating systems.

    + Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems to find root cause and collaborate with the functional teams to find resolution.

    + Perform scheduled lab maintenance operations and cyber continuous monitoring activities in the labs.

    + Integration and configuration and verification of map and radar databases

    + Develop and maintain of scripts used to install, integrate, and configure software products

    + Investigate and troubleshoot issues with the training devices and collaborate with the team and outside entities to determine resolution

    + Verify device functionality after software integration and cyber updates

    + Support testing of training systems devices

    + Perform data processing of flight data to extract data products for use in the electronic classroom instruction

    + Participate in scrum meetings and use Agile tools for task tracking

     

    The candidate must have a current DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ or equivalent).

     

    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

     

    This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

     

    Security Clearance and/or Special Program Access or other Government Access requirements are mandatory for this position.

     

    Much of the work at The Boeing Company is of a classified nature and many positions require a security clearance, the granting of which is at the discretion of Government authorities. A final security clearance is mandatory for this position prior to start. If you cannot or do not obtain the required final Security Clearance and/or Special Program Access or other Government Access requirements in a time frame established by program management, this offer may be withdrawn. Once your clearances are granted, if they are not maintained, the result may be reassignment, reclassification, or termination of employment.

     

    Special Programs Access may be required per the customer. Certain Special Programs require that the candidate have only U.S. Citizenship or no dual citizenship.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    + Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

    + DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)

    + 1+ Experience with Linux Operating Systems

    + 1+ years of experience and competency in troubleshooting, analysis and problem- solving strategies

    + Experience in software integration and testing

    + Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and challenging environment

    + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams

    + Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time domestically for remote installations

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    + 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    + Familiarity with the P-8A training devices - Weapon Tactics Trainer, Scenario Generation Station, Brief/Debrief Station

    + Experience with scripting languages such as: bash, PowerShell, python.

    + Experience working with Agile tools (Jira)

    + 3+ Experience with Linux Operating Systems

    Summary pay range Associate: $87,550 – 118,450

     

    Summary pay range Mid-Level: $104,550 – 141,450
