Responsibilities Serves as an Operations Assistant (Laboratory) for the Global Veterinary Medical Practice (GVMP) under Department of Defense (DoD) Food Analysis and Diagnostic Laboratory (FADL). The incumbent will also serve as lab ordering official and Government Purchase Card holder performing tasks related to medical supply inventory audits, ordering, receiving, inspecting, record keeping and vendor coordination. Monitors and replenishes inventory. Processes purchasing documents and periodically prepare and submit reconciliation reports. Verifies receipt of payment for specimen processing. Maintains all documentation as required by Army and local regulations. Determine sample test requirements, ensure proper tube designation for a wide variety of laboratory specimens for in-house analysis and/or shipment. Inspects analysis request form to ensure that all information is complete and accurate. Verifies that samples are collected in proper tubes and labeled accordingly. Appropriately identifies samples to ensure proper placement and determines urgency of processing. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Progressive work experience which demonstrates the knowledge and skills required to perform the duties of the position. Basic computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Suite or equivalent. Experience in using a point of sales software. Basic arithmetic expertise to balance cash draw, accept payments and provide change accurately. Typing proficiency - 40WPM. Highly Preferred Criteria: Three years of experience directly related to performing high-level analysis on a wide variety of laboratory sample types. A working knowledge of Remote Online Veterinary Record (ROVR) and completing Daily Activity Reports (DAR). An understanding of the principles of HIPPA. Possess a current HIPPA training certificate. Education Additional Information Area of Consideration: The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is defined as Bexar County, TX/Fort Sam and surrounding area within 50-mile radius; in addition to, you are considered eligible if one of the following applies: 1) you live outside of this area and are able to commute to work on a daily/as needed basis, 2) you are able to relocate yourself on your own expenses, 3) you are an involuntarily separated military member, or 4) you are a military spouse/family member relocating to this installation. Eligibility begins 30 days before the military sponsor's reporting date at the new duty location. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration). Salary Information: Salary is pro-rated based on a 40 hour work week. Hourly salary is: NF-03 $18.27ph to $18.27ph ($38,130pa to $38,130pa) PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
