CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer III opening for our client in Buffalo, NY.
**Location:** Buffalo, NY
**Duration:** 6 months
Overview:
This role will contribute to Java/Spring Boot service development and Salesforce infrastructure/DevOps tooling. Experience with the nCino managed package is a plus. Candidates with experience in GitLab, Azure App Services, and CopyStorm will be well-suited for success. The position involves both leadership and hands-on responsibilities in delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions to meet client needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead and participate in the most complex systems analysis, design, and development efforts
• Deliver high-level analytical consulting, identifying and implementing innovative uses of information technologies
• Provide technical leadership for complex projects, guiding less experienced developers
• Coordinate and oversee development tasks, preparing and managing technical components of project plans
• Collaborate with Development, Operations, and Technology staff from analysis to user acceptance testing
• Review test data, prepare test plans, and resolve issues through debugging
• Analyze and document highly complex interdependencies across systems and platforms
• Create and maintain technical specifications, systems documentation, and process diagrams
• Evaluate tasks and effort estimates across projects of any scope
• Ensure stable operation and optimal performance of supported applications
• Recommend and evaluate new technologies and tools
• Maintain and promote development standards and best practices
• Contribute to budgeting efforts and expense planning
• Supervise junior team members and conduct performance evaluations
Scope of Responsibilities:
• Operates under the direction of Technology Management, executing independently across all phases of complex systems development
• Provides leadership on cross-functional initiatives
• Mentors junior staff and may act as a delegate for senior management
• Interacts regularly with senior leaders, clients, and vendors
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
• Oversees and mentors less experienced staff
• May provide formal performance feedback or appraisals
• Serves as technical lead on medium to large-scale initiatives
Education and Experience Required:
• Associate’s degree and minimum 6 years of systems analysis/application development experience, or
• In lieu of a degree, 8+ years combined higher education and work experience, including 6+ years in systems analysis/application development
• Strong technical proficiency in:
• Java / Spring Boot
• Salesforce / Apex
• Azure App Services
• Familiarity with GitLab, CopyStorm, and DevOps methodologies
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work on multiple, complex projects
• Experience driving project milestones and mentoring teams
Education and Experience Preferred:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Expertise in the Bank’s application frameworks and integration models
• Subject matter expertise with applications supported
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and projects outside of business-as-usual environments
• Experience with nCino managed package and Salesforce DevOps tooling is a strong plus
