CNC Machine Operator

The Trident Company has an immediate opening for a CNC Machine Operator in the Odessa, TX facility. The CNC Machine Operator performs advanced production activities requiring a demonstrated high level of skill and proficiency in material handling, production processes and multiple machine operation acquired through extended experience and training.

+ Positions work pieces for processing

+ Operates a combination of different machines to process work by cutting, sawing, grinding, turning, drilling, boring and milling.

+ Uses gauges, calipers, squares, rulers, micrometers, OD & ID Mic's, pin gauges and depth micrometers for measurement.

+ Determines processing specifications such as materials, cutting tools, location of cutting lines, dimensions, tolerances, and operational sequences by reviewing blueprints, work orders, tooling instructions or other written specifications.

+ Installs and aligns specified punches, cutting blades or other fixtures in machine bed using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, or hand tools.

+ Adjusts controls to set cutting speed, depth, and feed rates; and diagnoses problems and makes necessary adjustments.

+ Performs quality control inspections on finished product; for ISO-certified locations, performs In Process Quality Inspections

+ Coordinates and executes material handling of all inventories to be processed including operation of overhead crane.

+ Performs limited preventative maintenance, such as lubrication, cleaning and changing of parts.

+ May train less experienced workers and perform as lead in absence of group leader.

+ May mark identification on material/work pieces before processing.

+ May mark material after processing; store material for additional processing and/or shipping.

+ Restocks material.

+ Completes work order paperwork/documentation.

+ High School Graduate or Equivalent

+ Advanced reading and writing comprehension in English (to read work order instructions, safety, and policy manuals)

+ Advanced measuring skills to read English & Metric systems and a tape measure, caliper, gauges, or micrometer.

+ Must have mechanical aptitude and arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions.

+ Experience operating an overhead crane / forklift operator.

+ Must be proficient in the use of hand tools including grinder.

+ Demonstrated manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination.

+ Computer Literacy; Microsoft Products, CAD Programming and ERP

+ Must be organized with attention to detail.

+ Candidate must be able to pass a drug screening.
