Job Summary and Qualifications
The Special Procedures Scrub Technologist aides and assists in the completion of interventional procedures performed bythe4interventionalradiologist. They will assist the Interventional Physician at bedside and provide quality patient care while consistently adhering to department and medical center policies and procedures.

+ Maintain a good working relationship with all staff members.
+ Demonstrates flexibility in work schedule asrequired. (i.e.alternate shifts, call rotation, etc.)
+ Demonstrates initiative (Can workindependentwithout need of constant supervision or direction.)
+ Responsible (Completes assigned tasks, duties, etc.)
+ Punctual (Arrives at work on timeandon a consistent basis.)
+ Dependable
+ Observes universal precautions and other health and safety rules of the department as well as those of theMedicalCenter.
+ Participatesin continuing educationessentialto the field and for the betterment of the patient.
+ Demonstrates good patient care skills.
+ Communicates in apositivecompassionatemanorto all age groups.
+ Able tomodifyjobdutiesas necessary.
+ Appropriately assesses the patient’s pain and involves the patient in effective management of the pain usingage appropriateinterventions.
+ Maintain HIPPA compliance.
+ Consistently ensuresprompttimelyservice to all outpatients.
+ Monitors Patient Tracker consistently to make sure patients are not waiting excessively.
+ Works to always meet or exceed patient’sexpectationforfastefficient and compassionate service.
+ Maintainscleanenvironment.
+ Cleans equipment asrequired.
+ Sanitizes equipment between eachpatientcontact.
+ Consistentlyuseskind words, salutations, smiles,etcpromoting a friendly approach during all patient interactions.
+ Consistentlywearsnamebadge while at work. (<1% noncompliance)
+ Takescallaccording to schedule.
+ Completes all work before clocking out and leaving.
+ Assiststhe radiologist and or otherphysiciansas necessary.
+ Have a thorough knowledge of special procedures performedand all associated tools and equipment.
+ Proficient in use of Medi-Tech Radiology Information System
+ Knowledge of location of and use of MSDS, Emergency Response Manual, Crash Cart, O2 Shut off, Fire extinguishers, Exits
+ Competent in PACS usage.
+ Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
+ AlwaysfollowsALARA standards.
+ Always shields patients appropriately.
+ AlwayswearsRadiationMonitor appropriately.
+ Assistsin training of students and ancillary personnel asrequired.
+ Interacts professionally withpatient/family.
+ Is acquainted with local fire and safety regulations.
+ Haveknowledge of hospital policies and where to find them.
+ Understandfunctionsof the other departments throughout the facility.
+ Compile andmaintainquality assurance data asappropriate.
+ Able todemonstratethe knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteriaappropriate tothe following age groups: neonate, pediatric, adolescent,geriatricand general population.
+ Able tomodifyjob duties and communicate with customers in anage appropriatemanner.
+ Appropriately assesses the patient’s pain and involves the patient in effective management of the pain usingage appropriateinterventions.
What qualifications you will need:
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
+ Previous Scrub Tech experience
