    THE POSITION

    Do you have experience in performing administrative and advanced IT duties? If so, bring your specialized skillset to the Employment Banking and Revenue (EBR), IT Delivery Center. The Revenue, Lottery, Insurance, and Banking and Securities Division is searching for a Senior Applications Developer to support application delivery for the Department of Banking and Securities (DoBS). This position gives you the opportunity to act as a lead developer where you will be responsible for supporting DoBS application development efforts.     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As a Senior Applications Developer, you will be responsible for independently performing each phase of the software delivery life cycle in support of new development and maintenance of highly complex DoBS applications. Work involves serving as a lead application developer where you will utilize a wide array of development tools to support DoBS application development efforts. This includes application delivery management, sprint planning, software development estimates, complex software development, and complex software solution architecting. You will have the opportunity to consult with DoBS management regarding emerging technology solutions that would improve business operations, maximize existing system capabilities, and identify new opportunities that might benefit DoBS business operations. Additional responsibilities include:

     

    + Compiling reports regarding project status, resource commitments, and technical problems

    + Representing EBR in meetings

    + Designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining DoBS application architectures

    + Overseeing development of quality assurance procedures

    + Providing training regarding newly developed systems or enhancements

    + Overseeing developer and quality assurance testing of sprint deliverables

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment

    + Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Occasional after hours work required during deployments

    + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. You will be required to report in-office on Tuesday and Wednesday each week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + One year as an Applications Developer 2 or Computer Programmer 4;or

    + Five years of information technology experience that includes three years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance;or

    + Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field;or

    + One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field;or

    + An equivalent combination of experience and training.
