Role Summary
We are looking for a Manager, Creative Insights Lead to join Creative Studio—the dynamic, collaborative in-house agency responsible for developing and executing brand, marketing, design and storytelling initiatives across the Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines brands alongside our soon-to-be-launched single, combined loyalty program. Working closely with internal stakeholders across the organization, we deliver high-impact creative work that sparks travel stories, brand affinity and connection. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, collaborative and comfortable sitting at the complex intersection of data, consumer insights, creativity and culture. As a people leader, the Manager, Creative Insights Lead will establish, refine and nurture briefs and define priorities that lead the team to do their best work while delivering on measurable business objectives.
Key Duties
+ Partner with both in-house creative teams and internal partners to develop big idea concepts rooted in guest insights and cultural relevance.
+ Lead strategic development across multiple brands, including brand strategy, positioning, tone of voice and copy/messaging frameworks.
+ Translate business objectives into inspiring creative briefs that are unique, innovative and actionable.
+ Conduct qualitative and quantitative research—guest analysis data, competitive audits, trend spotting, etc.
+ Build bridges between the right and left brains in our organization by collaborating across teams to ensure consistency and strategic alignment across campaign and project touchpoints.
+ Decipher, pitch and own new in-house project opportunities, including optimized processes, tools, and deliverables that drive efficiency and build upon the changing needs of the business.
+ Oversee and mentor copywriting team to ensure our words and ideas challenge set boundaries while still maintaining cohesion across our suite of brands.
+ Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback; focusing on delegation for stretch assignments, developing the team to be able to handle changes in workload as the airline grows, looking at performance across the team, and time management.
+ Shape culture of team through action, presence and reinforcement of behaviors.
+ Stay plugged into new social trends, emerging platforms/technologies, AvGeek threads on Reddit, reality TV watercooler chats—basically any and all things that can influence culturally resonant creative thinking.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
+ 5 years of experience in brand strategy, creative strategy, or a related field within an agency or in-house creative/marketing team.
+ 2 years of experience with direct people leadership.
+ Bachelor’s degree with a focus in the creative arts, marketing, or communications, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
+ Exceptional storytelling, writing, and presentation skills.
+ Strong planning and project management capabilities.
+ Experience with research methodologies and turning data into insights.
+ A collaborative mindset, comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced and iterative environment.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Minimum age of 18.
+ Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
+ Background in copywriting, journalism, psychology, anthropology, or design.
+ A portfolio of case studies or work that showcases bold ideas backed by your strategic impact.

Salary Range
$117,850 - $176,800 / year
Total Target Compensation Range (incl. bonus & equity)
$129,635 - $194,480
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
**Note:** We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
