Job Summary
Pricing & Analytics department is responsible for developing data-driven insights and strategy to drive value optimization within the Residential and Mass Markets portfolios. Within this department, the Director of Business Intelligence provides centralized leadership in the following major areas:
1) Business Performance Dashboarding, supporting Residential and Mass Markets and TXU Solutions 2) Industry leading analytical capabilities to support holistic approach to value optimization 3) Management of relationships with external analytics vendors 4) Perf. reporting to support marketing channels and agent-level performance management needs for both Residential and Mass Markets 5) Mentorship and development of a team of 5-7 analysts (including some offshore)
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
+ Lead design / development of various analytical projects / initiatives to support key strategic priorities and focus areas, incl. customer counts, margin and life assumptions that underpin financial NPV modeling and business case creation
+ Oversee development and delivery of daily, weekly, and monthly business performance reports that support mission critical business activities
+ Support Pricing & Marketing teams to make data-driven decisions, by setting up trackingand testing in a robust, repeatable fashion through efficient processes
+ Utilize competitive intelligence, market research and business experience to make recommendations to optimize customer acquisition and retention strategies
+ Develop analytical frameworks, roadmaps and metrics for the broader organization
+ Lead monthly discussions on performance versus objectives; support strategic enterprise priorities to achieve these objectives
+ Structure and present analyses to executives and key business stakeholders
+ Establish partnerships and provide oversight over key outsourced relationships that fulfil our reporting / dashboardingand stakeholders’ data needs
+ Develop and mentor best-in-class team of analysts; provide technical guidance and coaching on analyses produced by the team
Education, Experience & Skill Requirements
+ Analytical and statistical skills gained through college degree programs (BS, MS in math, science, econometrics, etc.), similar certifications or relevant work experience required
+ 10+ years of experience in a fast-paced quantitative business environment
+ Strong proven problem-solving skills
+ Solid knowledge of electricity industry and competitive retail electric markets
+ Proven ability to translate business strategies into actionable initiatives and articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences
+ Strong technical expertise in SAS / SQL / Python or another programming language
Key Metrics
+ Unit CM for Residential and Bus. Mass markets
+ Customer gains, losses, net attrition / growth for both Residential and Bus. Mass markets
+ EBITDA for Residential and Bus. Mass markets
