Are you a hands-on professional with a passion for printing and design? We're looking for a Print Shop Manager to oversee daily operations of and long-term planning for the SUNY Oneonta Print Shop, a busy, 12-month operation that serves both the campus community and local nonprofit organizations.
The Print Shop is part of the Office of Communication and Marketing (https://suny.oneonta.edu/communication-and-marketing) , a small team of creative practitioners focused on strengthening SUNY Oneonta's reputation and supporting institutional priorities through strategic, coordinated efforts to promote the university externally. Communication and Marketing staff have responsibilities in marketing, advertising, management of the university website and institutional social media channels, media relations, content development, photography and video production, graphic design, printing, and identity and brand management. The Print Shop Manager will report to and work closely with the Senior Communication and Marketing Officer. This is a working supervisor position, where the manager will personally operate digital presses, duplication equipment and auxiliary equipment as part of a team, as well as performing administrative functions to keep operations running smoothly.

Duties include but are not limited to:
+ Supervise the Print Shop staff - Provide leadership and support to a team of print equipment operators and student workers working together to fulfill printing requests.
+ Manage Print Shop Production Operations - Oversee daily operations of the print shop: coordinate and manage print jobs from start to finish, ensure efficient and high-quality print production, maintain printing and finishing equipment and troubleshoot issues as needed.
+ Mange Print Shop Budgeting, Procurement and Billing - Manage equipment, supply and contractual budgets and purchasing to maintain inventory, supplies, repairs and negotiate service contracts necessary to operate the Print Shop. Manage campus employee user accounts and billing chargebacks to departments and offices. Manage the price schedule and billing process for nonprofit clients and DragonPrint personal printing for employees and students.
Salary: $57,151 - $60,000 commensurate with experience. SUNY Oneonta is a Public Service Loan Forgiveness qualifying employer. Information on SUNY's comprehensive benefits offerings can be found at https://www.suny.edu/benefits.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree
+ At least two years of experience working in a professional print shop
+ Management or leadership experience
+ Ability to multitask to meet deadlines in a busy environment
+ Experience in a customer service role
+ Capacity to work independently and as part of a team
+ Physical ability to routinely lift and/or carry heavy items and reach, bend and stand for long periods of time
Preferred:
+ Graphic design experience
+ Pre-press production experience
+ Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
+ Experience with Print Shop Pro or a comparable software platform for front-end ordering and back-end reporting and billing
+ Strong written communication skills
+ Experience working with and serving diverse populations
