    SUMMARY

    Oversee Engineering operations and provide technical support for product development, product designs and production processes.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    + Manage and direct product development and manufacturing engineering team.

    + Support Safety and Environmental values and related EJ metrics.

    + Manage CAPEX projects for equipment and tooling (Develop project scope and financial spreadsheets. Perform Safety and Environmental review. Provide direction for equipment and tooling design. Review product flow and plant layout. Commission equipment.)

    + Develop new composite products for Access Solutions for Infrastructure.

    + Manage new product set-up in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system including drawings and product structures. Provide costing to pricing group.

    + Develop new tooling for Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) and Overmold process.

    + Manage new tooling for facility including compression molding, Reaction Injection Molding (RIM), Resin Transfer Molding (RTM), pultrusion, and filament winding.

    + Provide program management for new product launch.

    + Provide design support for new products.

    + Manage Research and Development activities. Support R&D reporting for tax credit.

    + Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECR)

    + Provide Product Certification for access solution products.

    + Provide technical support for the Intellectual Property team.

    + Manage Continuous Improvement activities of current manufacturing operations.

    + Provide technical support for OT Security

    + Develop and document new processes.

    + Perform molding trials, experiments, capability studies, and related testing

    + Evaluate and specify materials.

    + Perform prototype builds and develop test plans

    + Develop manufacturing cell layout and product flow.

    + Implement process and productivity improvement relating to materials, machines and tooling.

    + Evaluate and specify processing equipment.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Directly supervises employees in the Engineering Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

     

    Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in Engineering or a related field; and at least 5-10 years related experience in addition to training. Masters degree a plus. Composites and CAD experience.

     

    Must be able to supervise and develop strong working relationships with employees as well as colleagues. The ability to be both pragmatic and collaborative is a must. The manager is the end promoter of EJ engineered products, best practices in usage and product compliance. Being able to be respectful and respected is paramount.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Most of their time is spent in the office, but occasionally the engineers need to go into the facility.
