Civil/Structural Engineer-Power Systems Location: Greeenwood Village, CO CLP Engineering (CLPE) is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more than twenty years' experience in electrical utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance and operations through our sister company, City Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative, government, industrial, and commercial customers. CLPE is seeking an experienced and talented Civil/Structural Engineer III - Power Systems to join our corporate engineering team and support infrastructure projects, including substations, transmission lines, and distribution systems. Duties & Responsibilities: * Develop detailed project plans, designs, and cost estimates for power systems infrastructure projects, including substations, transmission lines, and distribution systems. * Analyze project requirements and technical specifications, review design and construction plans, and provide recommendations to improve project feasibility, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. * Coordinate with other departments, project teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards. * Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, and ensure timely completion of projects within budget and on schedule. * Conduct site visits, inspections, and quality control checks to ensure that projects meet design and regulatory requirements, and ensure that all documentation and reports are accurate and up-to-date. * Collaborate with other engineers, planners, and stakeholders to identify and evaluate potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. * Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, materials, and methods in the power systems infrastructure field, and recommend new approaches to improve project outcomes. *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Skills & Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an accredited university. * Five to seven (5-7) years of civil engineering work experience with focus on power systems infrastructure projects required. * Candidate must have strong technical expertise, project management experience, and regulatory compliance knowledge to ensure safe and reliable operation of power systems infrastructure. * Strong technical proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other design software. * Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards related to power systems infrastructure design, construction, and maintenance. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify and mitigate project risks. * Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Strong communication skills, both oral and written. * Proficiency in preparation of construction documents, both plans and specifications, for a variety of clients. * Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory agencies. * Experience performing Construction Observation and Field Investigations * Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. * General knowledge of electrical engineering principles and experience working with power systems infrastructure preferred. Supervisory Responsibility * No supervisory responsibilities, however, opportunities may be available as the team grows. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: * This is a full-time exempt position. Office hours of work are Monday through Friday. Hyrbrid work schedule. The ability and availability to travel, attend meetings and functions outside typical business hours required. Travel: * Travel between job sites with 20-30% overnight travel expected. Work Authorization/Security Clearance: * Due to the nature of federal government work, candidates must be a US citizen. * You will be required to obtain Military Base Security Clearance for this position. * A valid driver's license required with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy.
