Summary You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/NETWORK) of the NAV SCHOOL EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DISPOSAL. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Responsibilities You will evaluate security protection programs to verify accurate implementation. You will develop information technology (IT) customer support performance criteria to verify that customer IT requirements are achieved. You will analyze hardware integration into information systems to develop test or evaluation procedures. You will conduct operating system security evaluations to verify compliance with information assurance (IA) requirements. You will evaluate the impact of business requirements on infrastructure configuration to develop plans for transition architecture. You will implement audit measures on hardware security safeguards to maintain activity compliance within regulatory requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Evaluating accreditation and certification requirements of IT security and network operation protocols; 2) Ensuring compliance of security procedures for Special Access Programs, and Closed and Restricted Areas; 3) Preparing audit compliance reports identifying countermeasures requirements for the systems and services of Telecommunications Electronics Material Protected from Emanating Spurious Transmissions (TEMPEST); 4) Preparing appropriate network documentation, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, topologies, and other correspondence required as a condition of network certification; 5) Providing administration and information for concepts, principles, practices, methods, policies, regulations, and procedures of (COMSEC) and network security programs used by Federal organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics or technology management. OR Successfully completed 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
