**Work Type:** Full-Time - 40 Hours per week (1.0 FTE)
**Work Schedule:** 8-Hour Shifts - Monday to Friday

**Pay Range:** $61,069 - $99,382 per year
Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects Rush’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.
Summary:
The Clinical Dietitian 1 is responsible for providing medical nutrition therapy for patients at Rush. Active participation in the treatment process is essential as the Clinical Dietitian 1 interacts with patients and members of the healthcare team. This role will care for patient populations that are frequently unable to meet nutritional requirements orally, requiring enteral nutrition (EN) or parenteral nutrition (PN). This may include, but is not limited to, post-surgical, critically ill, neonatal, pediatric, and geriatric patients. Required Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Master of Science Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics or health care related field OR Bachelor’s Degree required in Nutrition or Dietetics or health care related field and two years clinical experience post-credentialing if RDN credential and license obtained prior to January 1, 2024.
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
• Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist, State of Illinois
• Must have academic preparation and/or experience in program management and in the care of persons with chronic disease
Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• Travel to ambulatory satellite clinic sites as needed
Abilities:
50% of time sitting, 50% of time walking or standing.

Responsibilities:
• Manages nutrition care activities by utilizing the nutrition care process and nutrition-focused physical examinations.
• Provides age-appropriate medical nutrition therapy for malnourished patients on a timely basis.
• Monitor patient status and implement changes in nutrition therapy to achieve optimal nutritional status as needed.
• Provides evidence-based nutrition counseling/education. Evaluates scientific literature and applies this information to clinical practice. Participates in the evaluation and/or development of educational materials.
• Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Maintains standards of care and follows the Code of Ethics as mandated by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the State of Illinois, and Rush Clinical Nutrition Services.
• Participates as a vital member of the multidisciplinary health care team. Contributes current nutrition information to other practitioners through in-services, rounds, care conferences, and meetings. Serves as the expert clinician in his/her area of practice and as an essential resource for other practitioners from other disciplines.
• Provides enteral feedings and/or parenteral nutrition per protocol. Closely monitors patients for feeding and/or parenteral nutrition complications. Adjusts feedings and/or parenteral nutrition orders to ensure optimal intake.
• Communicates nutrition care plan to external health care facilities or other clinicians.
• Serves as a preceptor for educating dietetics students and other healthcare professionals on evidence-based medical nutrition therapy.
• Contributes to departmental initiatives to accomplish mission and vision
• Contributes to review of clinical nutrition protocols and procedures
• Supports nutrition related research and quality improvement projects to ensure practicing at height of scope for credential
