Description

Our client is partnering with Robert Half to identify an experienced Controller to join our executive leadership team in Rochester, Minnesota. This pivotal role involves overseeing all financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving strategic financial planning for the organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting and leadership to support organizational growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with organizational standards.

• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support financial objectives.

• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to ensure regulatory and financial compliance.

• Manage cash flow, risk assessments, and tax compliance in collaboration with external advisors.

• Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger management, payroll processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

• Collaborate with senior leadership to analyze the financial implications of strategic initiatives.

• Coordinate external audits and ensure timely submission of audit and tax-related documentation.

• Evaluate and enhance financial policies, procedures, and systems to increase efficiency.

• Recruit, mentor, and lead a small finance team to achieve departmental goals.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in senior accounting or controller roles.

• Proficiency in general ledger management and financial statement preparation.

• Expertise in budgeting, compliance, and financial operations.

• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

• Demonstrated experience in managing audits and liaising with financial institutions.

• Effective leadership capabilities with excellent communication skills.

• Familiarity with full-cycle payroll processes and document management systems.

• Commitment to maintaining high standards of financial integrity and performance.

• Willingness to work onsite 5 days/week at our Rochester, MN location

Preferred Qualifications:

• BA Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA a nice to have
